Ðǿմ«Ã½

Woody BrownDEAR FUTURE Ðǿմ«Ã½DENT,

My name is Woody Brown and I’m originally from Stettler, Alberta. I completed my Bachelor of Arts at St. Ðǿմ«Ã½ with a double major in Economics and Political Science in 2016.

I’m now settled in Toronto where I work with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, tackling complex policy issues surrounding asylum claimants and how the government can better serve this population.

My experience at St. Ðǿմ«Ã½ and my Bachelor of Arts degree have served me well in life.

At Ðǿմ«Ã½, I had the opportunity to:

  • make life-long friendships
  • prepare for a meaningful career
  • develop research skills
  • learn to communicate clearly and concisely
  • participate in an international exchange

One of the things I enjoyed most about my time at Ðǿմ«Ã½ was the small class sizes. My favourite was the Model United Nations course, where we travelled to Boston to participate in the Harvard Model UN competition.

Without a doubt it is the critical thinking skills you develop and the opportunities to get involved that makes St. Thomas so special.

I hope you’ll consider St. Thomas for your post-secondary studies — it is a tight-knit community full of opportunities.

Wishing you the best of luck,

Woody Brown
