Admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Humanities) degree program is in two stages.

 

First-stage admission

First-stage candidates will apply for admission to the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. Graduates of NBCCD may proceed to Stage 2 admission and apply directly to St. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. All applicants must satisfy regular admission requirements for St. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.

Second-stage admission

To participate in the second stage admissions process, candidates must satisfy the following minimum academic requirements:

 

  1. Successful completion of a diploma from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.
  2. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 (ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ grade point scale) or 70% (NBCCD grading system) on courses taken in the diploma program at NBCCD.

Candidates for admission to the second stage of the Bachelor of Arts in Humanities will apply to the St. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s Admissions Office by February 15 of their second year in an NBCCD diploma program.  Applicants for the January semester intake are encouraged to apply by November 15.

 

Successful completion of a diploma at NBCCD does not guarantee admission to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. 

Application Procedures

Applications for second-stage admission to St. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will include:

  1. Completion of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½’s application form;
  2. Official NBCCD transcript and, if applicable, official transcripts from other post-secondary institutions attended;
  3. Non-refundable St. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ application fee.

 

Credit Transfer

A student who successfully completes a diploma at NBCCD and is admitted to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ shall receive academic credit equal to a maximum of 50% (60 credit hours) of the credits towards the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Humanities). Twenty-four (24) credit hours will be transferred at the 1000-level and thirty-six (36) credit hours will be transferred at the 2000-level.
